Keep Up The "God" Work

Encouragement to keep fulfilling your calling.

We have all been called to do a work for the Lord. We start out with great intentions and then...life. We encounter trials, loss, sickness, and many other circumstances that can try to hinder us. But we must keep up the "God" work, no matter what happens! 2 Peter 1:10 tells us to confirm our calling and election. We have been divinely selected for God's purpose. How can we be productive and effective? In 2 Peter 1:5-8, we are instructed to add to our faith:

  1. Goodness: virtue, moral excellence

  2. Knowledge: doctrine, wisdom

  3. Self-Control: self-restraint

  4. Perseverance: endurance, patience

  5. Godliness: devotion

  6. Mutual Affection: brotherly love

  7. Love: agape

Do you have these traits? Are there areas in which you need to grow? Create a stumble-proof ministry. Learn sound doctrine. Maintain your morality. Keep away from things that might harm your walk with God. Stay devoted and endure your difficulties with grace. Above all...put on love!

Is your "God" work different than you expected?

Is your calling outside the box? That is awesome! Years ago, when I was ordained into ministry, there was no internet. I had no idea what direction God would take me in the future. And I continue to rely upon His leading into unchartered territory. Don't close the open door that God is trying to move you through. It might be unconventional. That's okay. The point is to reach people! Keep up the "God" work!
