My Story
I had served in many areas of ministry before and after ordination in 2006. However, everything shifted around 2016 when I was placed off of work permanently due to an incurable and severe nerve pain disorder (I had been struggling with it for 2 years). I thought, "This cannot be the end of my ministry for the Lord." I confess. I struggled not only physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Then I did the best thing that can ever be done: I prayed and fasted. At the end of this fast, God began flooding my soul with purpose, in spite of the pain. My illness didn't go away, but my perspective changed.
This ministry is called Steady Course Ministries because God has used the ocean in many of the ways that He has spoken to my heart over the past decade. On my journey, I have gained much understanding of suffering in order to help others who are suffering. Under this ministry are 3 Facebook groups, a blog, a YouTube channel, and many studies, as well as a book that I am working to complete.
On a personal level, I have been married to my husband for 28 years and have 3 daughters, 6 grandchildren, and 2 dogs. I can testify about the goodness of God through experience with mental illness, chronic pain, and the loss of a child. My favorite quote is this:
