Over the weekend I had the opportunity and great honor to speak at a Women's Prayer Breakfast in northwestern Ohio. I shared my online ministries and started with a raw testimony of my life. As I was preparing for this event, the Lord spoke great Words for me to share and I would like to pass a few of these along! God wants to do a NEW thing in us and in our ministries right now!
Essential #1 - God Wants To Do A NEW Thing!
Isaiah 43:19 says, “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
This is the God we serve! He is the God Who exceeds all expectations. Understand that no matter your situation today, He wants to do a NEW thing. When I was ordained into ministry, there was no internet. And when my situation and life's circumstances changed, He said, “I’m not finished with you. I will do a NEW thing.”
He wants to put together a NEW thing! Yes. Even from your hurt, your struggle, and your pain! Because it is not all about you. There are people who need our ministries. 2 Corinthians 2:14 says, “who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
Essential #2 - It Shall Spring Forth!
A few years ago, my neighbors asked me if I wanted her yellow knock out rose bush. So I transplanted it. I have no green thumb and thought I killed the poor thing, but after a couple of years a few yellow roses popped up. However, one year the roses began blooming in a completely different color. They are now red!
This is what God wants to do: a NEW thing! It shall spring forth. Something is happening beneath the surface. God is working! If we are rooted and grounded in Him, something NEW is getting ready to spring forth! Something we never expected! We cannot begin to imagine what He has in mind.
" If you are clinging to the past with all of your might, you cannot grab ahold of what He has for your future." – Pastor Erin Canter
Essential #3 - Forget It!
Right before this, Isaiah 43:18 says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.” We do this too much. Stop! Because He wants to do a NEW thing! If you are clinging to the past with all of your might, you cannot grab ahold of what He has for your future. You have to let it go! Don’t worry about it, don’t think about it, it’s time to move forward! Paul said, “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Forget it! Let it go! Move forward with open hands.
Essential #4 - The Struggle Has Purpose!
Some of us want a "push present." Not only are women going on "babymoons," but they are also demanding a gift for pushing out a child. Like this, we often find ourselves expecting a gift for birthing a ministry or a purpose for Christ. We demand "spiritual epidurals" to avoid the pain. But the struggle has purpose, my friend.
Romans 5:3 “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.” Pain produces perseverance. We need to labor in order to birth what God has! It takes a lot of energy to go against the waves and continue moving toward the open sea. But don’t you want to see the works and wonders in the deep? It takes work to get there.

Essential #5 - It Starts With Prayer!
It ALL starts with prayer. I would like to know: What happened to the all night prayer meetings? Where is the 90 day fasting?. Want to see revival? It starts with prayer! Want to see miracles and healings? It starts with prayer! Want to see chains fall and doors open? It starts with prayer! God wants to do a NEW thing, but it starts with prayer on our part.
In Closing...
I was also able to share part of my book that I am working on. They were very receptive and this gave me a great boost that I need in this season of writing. Stay tuned for more on this! In the mean time, subscribe to my blog below. Remember: God wants to do a NEW thing. It takes work, it takes prayer, and we must allow God to change us into what He desires. All for His glory.
